On the 24th October, we were delighted to be part of the Solent University Job And Placement Fair. Two members of our content team, Chris and Abi, headed over with a bag full of ICAAL Academy leaflets and a bowl full of sweets. We talked to hundreds of eager students and graduates, who were keen to investigate a career in the exciting world of digital marketing.
Among stands of big names, such as Garmin, Lidl and Kier, we were in our element. The ICAAL banner was proudly on display, showing our full range of services, from video production and graphic design to SEO copywriting and web development. This banner really helped when students asked, “what exactly does ICAAL do?”, to which the response was usually, “well, everything!”.
The day was non-stop, with students visiting the fair from 10am until 2.30pm. Chris even volunteered at the CV workshop, helping students to hone their resumes.
Speaking about his time at the fair, Chris said:
‘I have attended a number of student fairs with ICAAL and the Solent Student Fair stands out as one of the best.
‘The students were engaged and keen to get involved, meaning that we had some great conversations with those who attended.
‘We’re already looking forward to sending a team to the 2020 fair!’
Over the morning, we had so many visitors that we ran out of leaflets and business cards! It’s no surprise that since the fair, we have been inundated with applications for our ICAAL Academy work experience placements. We are passionate about helping talented students in Southampton start their journey in the job market, so we’re always on the hunt for ways to connect with them.
