In September, wannabe Rory McIlroys from up and down the country gathered together for the second annual Rocal golf day in aid of Victim Support. Having participated in the competition last year, we were delighted to get involved and sponsor it this time round. It was an honour to play a part in raising money for such a worthwhile charity. The event raised a whopping £1600 in total, which will go directly to helping those in need.
Victim Support offer free and confidential help to people who have been impacted by traumatic or violent crime. Their support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. They also offer practical help for issues such as insurance claims and criminal justice. Through their life-changing work, thousands of people regain their confidence and a sense of security. We are thrilled to have been able to help support them.
Installers, fabricators and manufacturers from the home improvement industry travelled to Elsham Golf Club to support the cause with some friendly competition. As well as a prize for completing the golf course, Rocal also offered awards for the longest drive, the nearest the pin and putting. No one won the £20,000 hole-in-one contest, but there’s always next year!
The day couldn’t have gone more smoothly: the course was immaculate, the conditions were perfect, and even the sun came out to show its support! A two-course meal for all the players after the competition was finished added to the celebration and atmosphere of the day. Everyone involved, including ICAAL, is excited for next year!
Our CEO, Chris Tahmasaby, said:
“We have helped Rocal with their digital marketing for a number of years and were therefore proud to sponsor their charity golf day. It was a great event and Victim Support is a fantastic organisation, offering invaluable help to people who really need it. Anyone can be a victim of crime, so we feel it’s important for everyone to support their work.”
The 2019 Rocal golf day has been a roaring success; with fun, food and fundraising, it delivered across the board. Following this year’s hit, Rocal are sure to hold another golf day in 2020. If you’d like to be involved, make sure you mark September in your diary, we certainly will!
